Illegal Support Groups filing million dollar suit against Frederick Co Sheriff 10 Nov 09 by Bob Bailey
Roxana Orellana Santos and her lawyers with LatinoJustice PRLDEF, CASA de Maryland and Nixon Peabody LLP will file a $1 million suit in the U.S. District Court at Greenbelt today.
This is nothing more than an attack on the sovereignty of the State of Maryland.
Greenbelt MD is located along the I-495 beltway around Washington DC. Casa de Maryland is an illegal immigrant support group funded in part by the State of Maryland (http://www.casademaryland.org/ ). LatinoJustise a Latino advocacy group (http://www.prldef.org/ ). Nixon Peabody a full-service, international law firm -- one of the largest in the world -- formed through the merger of three law firms with broad-based practices and extensive portfolios. (http://www.nixonpeabody.com/ ) Roxana Orellana Santos was arrested over a year ago on Oct. 7, 2008. Rather than being deported, she was given supervised release on Nov. 11, 2008. The target of the law suit is the Frederick County board of commissioners because the board funds the sheriff's office. Sheriff Jenkins said the information given by LatinoJustice left out some of the facts surrounding the arrest. Since April 2008, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office has been operating under a 287(g) agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which provides police training in federal immigration laws. Frederick County is the only county in Maryland to participate in the 287(g) program. Over 500 criminal illegal aliens have been processed the
As reported in the Frederick News Post, Santos now lives at an undisclosed location in the United States with her family and has an immigration lawyer. The only injustice I see here is that, at a time of war and right after a legal immigrant has gone on jihad killing Americans, that we are being overly concerned about the rights of an illegal immigrant, and the central government is lending its hand to ensure illegal aliens are not deported.
The State of Maryland is being attacked through the central government's court system. The result of this and other lawsuits is that the central government will impose its will on the people of Maryland. Even if the plaintiffs lose the case, they win. All they need to do is submit enough lawsuits in Federal Court until Frederick County will be forced to submit due to lack of funds to defend itself. We can not defend ourselves from the onslaught of these lawsuits. This is the same approach the central government used to force bank to give loans to people who could not afford them.
