Fri, 06 Nov 2009 V-USA Commentary by: Tom Kovach This column will present examples of the double standards that have been appplied to coverage of yesterday's "Fort Hood massacre". First, a brief review of the facts. Yesterday, at approximately 1330 Local (1:30pm, Central Time), a 39-year old US Army psychiatrist, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, began a shooting spree inside various buildings across Fort Hood in central Texas. The massacre left at least 12 people dead, and wounded another 31 people. Hasan is an American-born Muslim that was raised in northern Virginia. Surviving victims of the shooting spree reported that Major Hasan had shouted, "Allahu Akhbar," before he began firing. (The phrase means "Allah is great" in Arabic.) Hasan's duties as a psychiatrist including treating soldiers returning from combat with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The soldiers in the Readiness Facility -- where the majority of shooting occurred -- were returning from combat duties in the Middle East. And, now, we will examine the lies and double standards. There are so many that a numbered list is required. - "Allahu Akhbar" means "God is great" in Arabic. No, it does not! It means "Allah is great". The difference is significant, because the Lamestream Media translation implies that Muslims worship the same god as do the Jews and Christians. There are entire columns -- and even books -- written to disprove the notion that Allah is equal with God. Rather than offer a lengthy theological presentation, this column presents only two logical questions. First, if all three religions worship the same god, then why do the Muslims work so hard to kill as many Jews and Christians as possible? Second, if Islam is a "religion of peace", then why have Muslims been killing each other for 1,400 years over a single question of their own religion?
- "This was not an act of terrorism". Within 30 minutes of the shootings, the FBI had put out this standard disclaimer. But, it wasn't true. It also wasn't true when they said it about a Muslim college student that drove his car onto a campus sidewalk and ran over groups of students -- also while shouting "Allahu akhbar". It also wasn't true when a Muslim driver ran his car over shoppers at a mall -- also while shouting "Allahu akhbar". It also wasn't true when a Muslim ran over a group of Jews leaving a synagogue -- also while shouting "Allahu akhbar". The FBI also said that the downing of TWA Flight 800 was not an act of terrorism, despite the fact that a terrorist mastermind was recorded -- on audio and video, both before and after the crash -- making coded references to it during phone calls from prison. And, why was he in prison? Because he had masterminded the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993. The short definition of "terrorism" is the use of seemingly-random violence to influence policy or events. Hasan left evidence that he wanted to undermine American military efforts against Muslim countries. Therefore, Hasan committed an act of terrorism.
- "Let's not jump to any conclusions." During his publicized remarks in the wake of the shooting, White House occupier-in-chief Barack Hussein Obama said that about the ongoing Fort Hood investigation. Isn't he the same person that said, a few months ago, that police officers in Massachussetts were "stupid" for arresting a Black college professor -- who just happened to be personal friends with Obama -- while that professor was breaking into a house? (It turned out to be his own house, and that he had locked himself out. But, when the police arrived, the professor accused the officers of being "racists" and argued with them, thus provoking his own arrest.) The poor police officer that made the arrest was later called to the White House for a "beer summit" with the professor. So, is there any chance that Obama will call survivors of Fort Hood to a "hashish summit" with the Hasan family? (There is an interesting linguistic link between the words "hashish" and "assassin". Look it up.)
- The shooter was "disturbed". Hello! He was a psychiatrist. Not only does that generally imply a stable personality, but military psychiatrists are required to themselves undergo routine mental examinations to ensure that their work does not overwhelm them. Using terms such as "disturbed" is merely a smokescreen to divert attention away from obvious questions about whether the shooter was motivated entirely by his Muslim faith. (see Item 1, above) The proof that puts the lie to the "disturbed" argument is that Hasan wrote a blog -- months before his attack -- spouting pro-Islamist, anti-American sentiments. Hasan's acts were premeditated, which implies a cogent motive. Being cogent puts the lie to being "disturbed". Hasan's motive was his Muslim faith. During the mid-1990s, the Lamestream Media tried to paint Christians under a broad brush named David Koresh. But, if anyone hints that Muslim terrorists are terrorists precisely because they are Muslims, then that person is media-branded as a "racist". (NOTE: Hasan's blog contained phrases designed to inspire other American Muslims in the military to commit acts to undermine the American military. Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, that is called "sedition", which ranks just behind treason and mutiny in seriousness of punishment. Why the military authorities did not charge Hasan with sedition is a question worth asking. One must wonder whether political correctness protected Hasan at a time when his rampage could've been prevented.)
- This was an isolated incident. Oh, really? There is a strikingly similar modus operandi among all of the other "isolated incidents" perpetrated by Muslims across this country. (see Item 2, above) The reality is that this is not even an isolated incident within the military. The most famous example was Sgt. Hassan Akbar, who in 2003 "fragged" several of his fellow soldiers from Fort Campbell while deployed to Kuwait. Investigation revealed that Sgt. Akbar, like Maj. Hasan, had made it clear that he was motivated by feelings that Muslims should not fight other Muslims, and that American Muslims should do what they can to undermine the American military. Two years later, at Fort Campbell, MPs apprehended another soldier that began firing into a physical-conditioning formation. That shooting took place just prior to a unit deployment.
- There is no larger, coordinated plan. Oh, really? Major Hasan was raised in northern Virginia, where the Muslim group Jamaat al-Fuqra has a strong presence. That group -- which is made up mostly of American-born Muslims -- has a number of training camps across the United States. (In 1994, I was on the road that led to one now-well-known camp in Upstate New York.) Northern Virginia is also home to several other Muslim groups that have known ties to fundraising for Islamist terror groups here and overseas. One of the strategies of several domestic Islamist terror groups is to infiltrate the American military. Keep in mind that John Mohammed, "the DC sniper", was also a former US Army member that engaged in Muslim-motivated shootings. Given that the job of Major Hasan was to provide psychiatric services to returning combat veterans, and given that his anti-American sentiments have been exposed, one must wonder whether he used his position of trust to engage in psychological warfare againts returning American soldiers. And, if he did, then are there more "sleepers" like Dr. Hasan in other American military hospitals? And, if so, then is there any connection between that and the sharp increase in random violence by military members in recent years? (These acts of assault, murder, and suicide have been identified as statistically much more prevalent among Iraq-Afghanistan veterans than among their predecessors from other wars.)
- There is no religious motivation. Oh, really? The possiblity of Islamist "sleepers" within the American military, and government, is not at all far-fetched at this point. The Lamestream Media has been railing for decades about the influence of the "Christian Right" upon our government. But, they are almost silent about the 800-pound gorilla of dedicated Islamists seeking to destroy the United States from within. A retired special agent of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI), P. David Gaubatz, has recently released a book called Muslim Mafia that documents in detail that very thing. (Gaubatz is fluent in Arabic, and had worked counter-intelligence duties in Iraq. During my military career, I worked with OSI agents both Stateside and overseas.) Recently, WorldNetDaily reported that, as a result of information in that book, Federal authorities were looking into Muslim sleepers working as aides in Congressional offices. And, just this morning, WND reported that the same Fort Hood shooter, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, was a participant in a George Washington University task force that advised the Obama transition team on Homeland Security matters! In late September of this year, thousands of Muslims gathered on Capitol Hill. As I reported in The Crossbow, that gathering was timed to coincide -- on the Muslim calendar -- with the anniversary of the Battle of Uhud. A few weeks after that battle, in which the army of Medina repelled the Muhammedan invaders, the Muslims regrouped and took over Medina. That was the beginning of the Muslim religious empire that lasts to this day. It is now a few weeks after the gathering on Capitol Hill. As this column is being typed, news is breaking about a sniper incident in Orlando, Florida. Is the shooter another Muslim? Is this the beginning of their push for an "American Jihad"? Is it mere coincidence that the official motto of the September gathering was "our time has come"? Are the Islamists motivated by the fact that Barack Obama, while purporting to be a Christian, has never publicly renounced Islam? Around the world, there are many Muslims that view the current occupier of the White House as their long-awaited Mahdi (end-times savior, who will usher in a global Muslim rule under shari'a).
- Everything is fine. Peace and security for everyone. This lie needs no explanation, beyond that found in Jeremiah 6:14 -- and repeated in Jeremiah 8:11 and Ezekiel 13:10. See also: 2nd Peter 2:1.
Regardless of the double-standard that the Lamestream Media uses, there is only one Standard that really matters. Those that spread lies to water down the truth will one day face the Judge that will rule by that Standard.
