AIPNews.com Letter to the Editor October 30, 2009 The news is everywhere. Voters are realizing that the current Democratic/Republican party system is no longer responsive to the voice of “We the People.” In New York, third party candidate Doug Hoffman is now leading in the polls in the special congressional election. In New Jersey, Independent Candidate Chris Daggett is taking a big bite out of his Republican and Democratic opponents. The myth that an Independent candidate can’t win, a myth that is intentionally perpetuated by the two major parties, is being dispelled. In his farewell address, George Washington warned about the corrupting danger of political parties. His fears were well founded as today the two parties seek power for power's sake and not to represent the will of the people. The two parties and their special interest groups, although opposed to each other, will collude and cooperate together to ensure that no other voice is heard. One glaring piece of evidence of this is the “straight ticket” voting procedure. The straight ticket advantage that is gained by a Republican or Democratic candidate is designed by the party power brokers to intimidate and discourage candidates such as myself. I encourage all voters in the upcoming 2010 elections to seek out candidates that reflect their values, regardless of party affiliation. The 2010 election is a great opportunity for voters to throw off their party shackles and send a message to all elected officials – we want representation, not party rhetoric! Daggett is a pro-abort liberal anyhow. |

"The myth that an Independent candidate can’t win, a myth that is intentionally perpetuated by the two major parties, is being dispelled. "
Luckily it is getting exposed as the myth it is. Lets remember Liebermam won handily -- despite the Democrat machine throwing every barricade in front of him they could and doing everything to rally national support they could . But the media are busy trying to draw parallels between NJ and NY. (even where none exist) On one hand they seem to be optimistic about NJ's Independent -- or appear to be. On the other, they reserve their enthusiasm about Hoffman, except that he may cost the Republican the race -- a good thing to leftocrats. So its possible disgruntled Democrats may see opportunity in the Independent NJ-crat.

Only problem is, the Republican isn't a conservative either, so he can hardly paint the Independent as the liberal he is so as to swing votes away from the Democrat. Liberalism is a mental disease. One that always in the end proves to be fatal.

So right. Doesn't this put the Republican in NY on a defensive posture... instead of offense. ( But she is naturally offensive to many Repubs ) |

This is spreading to other sources like Brannon Howse on Worldview Radio:
Brannon Howse: October 28 Topic One: Net Neutrality update. This is the fairness doctrine for the internet. Topic Two: Former citizen of the USSR warns that Obama's service.gov is calling students to serve the state. Topic Three: GOP fight for right. Major GOP leaders are supporting the independent candidate because the republican candidate is pro-abortion and for same-sex marriage. Is this the beginning of what Gerald Celente predicted—the rise of independent candidates over republican and democrat candidates? Hey, Tom! . . . We're winning! |

Thanks for correcting my facts about Daggett. I misread the Wall Street Journal article. In short, the article says Christie and Corzine in statistical dead heat, and Daggett at 14 %.
FYI, I noticed the lively "discussion" on Free Republic. Although I'll stay out of the fray there, I am more than willingly to discuss the issues brought up there on our America's Summit call. |

Thanks Tom. I figured that would be your attitude. But I seriously doubt that she will take me up on it anyhow.
