SOUTH BEND, Ind., May 8 /Christian Newswire/ -- Dr. Alan Keyes and 20 pro-lifers will walk on to Notre Dame's campus at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 08, 2009, with baby strollers carrying baby dolls covered in "stage blood" to protest the invitation of Notre Dame to [Alleged] President Obama to deliver the commencement address at this year's graduation.
On Thursday, May 7, Dr. Keyes was unexpectedly approached at a press conference on public property by two plain clothes Notre Dame Policemen, and told that if he walks on Notre Dame's campus for any reason, he will be arrested.
Dr. Keyes was shocked. He stated:
"I have not even stepped foot on the campus, and they give me this warning? They told me: 'We are just doing our job.' I told them I am just coming to witness for the truth."
Dr. Keyes had a long conversation with both men, telling them that they have a duty to God to do what is right. He told them that on the day of Judgment they will not be excused for wrong doing, because they were "doing their job," any more than German guards at concentration camps could make such an excuse.

On Thursday, pro-lifers began to arrive from around the country to push the strollers with Dr. Keyes, and face the ire of Notre Dame Officials, as well as arrest. Most of those risking arrest are from Notre Dame; but pro-life advocates from Washington D.C., Michigan, Texas, Arkansas, and Ohio also have arrived.

2) The dismissal of Rev. Jenkins as Notre Dame President.

1) If Obama decides to run again in 2012, we have politically tarred him with the blood of babies in such a way that he cannot win;

We are opening an office in South Bend to live out these truths: Abortion is Murder; Obama supports murder; we must resist murder, and those who promote it. The love of life DEMANDS that we "fight" to stop this betrayal of God and babies.
So, since we are dealing with murder, we will confront and rebuke those at Notre Dame that have betrayed Life, Truth, and God Himself by their treachery.
Why this "battle" is CRITICAL – to the Whole World
Notre Dame is the most famous Catholic University in the Western Hemisphere, and perhaps the world; Obama is the most powerful political figure in the world (not including the pope); The Catholic Church – and by extension, Catholic Universities – defends life; and Obama promotes the murder of the innocent.
If Obama speaks at Notre Dame, it will be akin to the political and cultural rape of true Catholicity in America; it will cause scandal worldwide; and it will lead to the confusion and deception of the faithful around the world, and to more bloodshed.
Will the Church Militant in America live up to her name? Will we be militant for Life and Truth? Or will we be the Church flabby and fearful; the Church polite; the Church ignored; the Church in retreat?
The answer, my friend, lies in part with you.

And if at all possible, join us in a righteous pilgrimage to South Bend, so that if the school goes through with this insanity, we have a large group of the faithful to cry out against Obama, and against the Catholics who have turned Notre Dame into “our tramp.”
“Fighting” in Cyber Space…and “Fighting” in the public square
Let me be frank with you: this "war" will not be waged in cyber space.
This is not about emails, and on-line petitions. That is why we are going to South Bend to open an office to "lead a political attack" on the ground.
So, I invite you to sign the online petition at this site, but know right up front that the primary purpose of the petition is to get your email address, so we can contact you with marching orders as this "battle" progresses. We will not rent or sell or give your email info to anyone.
Next, this is going to be an ugly "fight" – it is not for the fainthearted. Sending out emails to your friends is not fighting.
Start making phone calls:
Call Fr. Jenkins, and demand that they cancel the invitation for Obama to speak;
Call your bishop, and ask him to make a PUBLIC STATEMENT against Notre Dame’s treachery;
Write to Archbishop Burke and Cardinal Stafford in the Vatican, asking them to apply pressure against this scandal’
Above all: Be ready to come to South Bend to lift up a howling, righteous voice of protest against this evil.
We will have an ongoing series of activities aimed at getting the University to withdraw its invitation, or Obama to “change his plans.”

I agree that protests are necessary at times, and we must stand up and speak out for what is right and Godly. But we must be sure we are doing so within our Constitutional rights--stand on public ground and not on private property.

Lynn, that's one of the beauties of AIP, in my opinion. Your position is a perfectly reasonable one. You have full play here on AIPNEWS.com and in our national conference calls to express your views and make your case, just as Dr. Keyes does, or I do, or anyone else.
In the end, of course, in this particular case we're dealing with a matter of personal conscience, one that must be acted on, or not acted upon, by each of us as a matter of private conscience before God.
We're all independents, but independents who have freely chosen to associate ourselves together based on a shared set of fundamental principles.
Many questions will be answered as we proceed in the work of building America's Independent Party. Among the most important of those questions are these:
1) Can we love and respect one another enough to work our way through our disagreements?
and
2) Can we maintain that spirit and atmosphere in such a way that those with minority opinions are treated with complete respect?
