March 21, 2010 by Tom Hoefling As Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and their socialist cadre prepare to vote to pass the keystone of their socialist agenda, socialized medicine, this is one of those days upon which history turns. It will be a day of DESTRUCTION for Liberty and the American way of life, or the beginning of our DELIVERANCE, perhaps, if the people will finally turn back to God and to the fundamental moral principles of our republic. What core American principles does the socialist Obama scheme violate? Practically all of them. First, it protects the baby-killing industry, and funds it, with or without the phony "protections" afforded by the fake "pro-life" provisions proposed by liberal Congressman Bart Stupak and his colleagues. And so, what the Founders of this country called God-given and therefore unalienable, the Obama faction alienates. With your money. With prejudice. Second, in the name of taking care of you, they destroy your liberty. In exchange for your precious birthright of freedom, they offer you and your posterity all the security of the prison cell. Third, they are destroying the possibility of economic prosperity. Socialism has never worked anywhere, at any time, and it never will. This legislation, piled on top of the teetering edifice of debt and "entitlement" this country has already saddled itself with, will bring our entire nation down to the ground financially. And last, but certainly not least, this legislation is a massive blow, perhaps a fatal final blow, to constitutional government in the United States. The idea of limited government - government restricted only to those powers granted to it by the people, through the instrument of the Constitution - is nowhere to be found in these appalling machinations on Capitol Hill. Nancy Pelosi, in scoffing at any such suggestion of rightful jurisdiction, displays the attitude of this whole generation of political "leaders." It is the attitude of the lawless tyrant. As one of her top lieutenants admitted this week, "There are no rules. We make them up as we go along." I was a bit reluctant to use the D-Day analogy in the title of this piece, but upon prayerful consideration decided to go ahead. After all, that decisive battle of World War II on the coast of France, one in which many courageous Americans gave their all, is in a real sense the same battle we are fighting today - the war against Godless socialist tyranny. The only difference is that this phase of the eternal contest has not yet reached the point of bloodshed inside the borders of America. We are still contending by peaceful means, with words, activism, and votes. For now. But, knowing the inevitable course of socialism throughout history, we can say with certainty that their violent phase always eventually arrives - if they are denied the fulfillment of their insatiable desire for control over the people. Hear the warning voice of the great man who for decades diligently warned Great Britain and the world, as the darkness approached but before the blood began to flow: "If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than live as slaves." -- Winston Churchill Source: WINSTON CHURCHILL, The Gathering Storm , p. 348 .On March 31, 1939, Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain had informed the House of Commons that Britain would support Poland against any action threatening its independence. This marked the end of submission to Germany. Churchill thought the decision should have been made sooner when it would have been easier to stop Germany. |
