Y'all, this primary for the Kentucky Senate race is just amazing...never a dull moment, that's for sure! Here's a little breakdown for those of you who aren't up to speed.
I have written previously about Dr. Rand Paul, there's Kentucky Secretary of State, Trey Grayson, Bill Johnson (who is endorsed by Dr. Alan Keyes, no less!), and a host of others, all in contention for the Republican slot on the ballot. To say there's a lot of politicking going on is the understatement of the year.
I was hanging out over on Facebook earlier, and a link popped up that caught my eye, and I can't leave this one alone. You already know what happens when I get hung up on something. A gazillion tabs are opened, I wear out TheGoogle, Firefox crashes a few times, and I actually write something for a change. :)
Trey Grayson, a Republican candidate for US Senate, was the keynote speaker on the issue of global warming last year at Eastern Kentucky University as part of the National Focus the Nation event.
Now, why is that such a big deal? Well, the Special Adviser for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation for Focus the Nation is none other than Van Jones.Yes, that's right, the self-proclaimed communist Obama hired to be the Green Jobs Czar that had to tuck tail and resign at midnight.
WHOA
Now, let's back up a bit. Here's a bit of history on Focus the Nation. They are a "climate change" advocate group that supports Cap and Trade and all kinds of other crap. their supporters are a who's who of the liberal progressive DC bunch, including Ma'am Boxer, Pelosi, Arlen Specter, all the way up to Obama himself. Last January, they conducted webcasts and "teach-ins" in over 1900 high school and college campuses across the country, and now they are working on what they call "The Road to Copenhagen." Oh, you remember the upcoming Copenhagen event, right? The one that, if the treaty is signed and ratified, will literally override the Constitution. Yeah, nice, right?
Over on the Focus website, there is THIS page, chock full of videos about last year's event and a bunch of other stuff - including a special message from Van Jones, of course! The video that seems to sum it all up is below. Y'all, it stars all of our favorite progressives from across the country! Even Obama as a candidate! WOW! *sarc*
Now, look. I don't know about anyone else around here, but I don't think that a candidate running in the Republican Party, claiming to be a conservative, is being straight up with Kentucky voters about where he stands on issues if he has participated in an event like Focus the Nation. Trey Grayson FAIL!
What do y'all think? Do we really want a Senator that supports global warming enough to be a part of an ultra-liberal group like Focus the Nation? Keep in mind, this group wants to BANKRUPT the coal industry, does Eastern Kentucky need that? Do we want a Senator that associates himself with communists like Van Jones?
Leave a comment, I would love to hear what you guys think!
