Tired of writing those letters to the editor of your local papers, let alone the national papers? Don't fret! Obama and the Democratic National Party have solved the problem for you! Obama provides his people a link to contact media to support healthcare bill, but we can take advantage of it! "Organizing for America " has put the call out for people to email their local papers and write a letter to the editor. They have created a VERY easy and fast way to write all your local papers with just a few key strokes. (Why can't the GOP come up with things like this?) PLEASE take a minute to do this today and jump behind enemy lines to help kill the bill. We can use this same link to OPPOSE it. Dick Morris says we have to get 8% points in disapproval ratings to defeat it! Please follow this link and instructions, and send your letter of opposition. Here's what we need to do : Go to : http://my.democrats.org/page/speakout/posthouseLTE 1. Put in your Zip code. You will be redirected to a page where you enter all your address information. 2. Check all the boxes for all of your local papers and any national papers or other state's papers you desire. I clicked them all, lol. 3. Click next at the bottom, or click on the tab "compose letter" at the top. Either way, it will allow you to compose your own email to the editors you checked opposing the healthcare bill. 4. Write your letter to the editor against the healthcare bill. 5. Now click Next 6. Preview your letter to the editor and click "Send Email." Simple as can be. |

Excellent idea. You are right, this is easy and a great strategy! I served my duty in USA health care for over ten years. It does need an overhaul, but not exploratory surgery with the surgeon not in the operating room. As a citizen of these United States, I vote no on any version our congress in Washington has at this time. They are out to lunch, and have been for some time. Reform of health care can be done from within. Our government can be supportive, but not involved as they do not know how to run the country much less anything close to helping people with their health. I am John Adams |

Isn't it a hoot? Who knew the DNC and Organizing for America were so smart as to create a tool like this? Just wait until they find out we've been using their little tool.

This is from a friend on Facebook, [This is the last email on this subject. Only sent it out because of the pressing time table for health care]
I just got the following reply and suggest that you use your own judgment on whether or not to use the DNC form:
"Don't use this link! It is sending your contact information to multiple democrat support groups and counting statistics that show you support the health care reform bill. EVen if you successfully change the text of the letter, they still get your info and your stats. Contact your reps and media directly!" |

Yes, Jo, I saw that same message both on Facebook and on the various social networks to which I belong. I thought it was worth the risk to be able to do an email blast to so many newspapers at the same time. I chose not to mention it in this post because I thought the benefit far outweighed the risk.
There is no form letter. There is a list of "talking points," which they ask that you not copy verbatim. As for them keeping statistics on me...well, I'm a proud member of the right-wing extremists. They can count my participation if they wish, but that doesn't diminish the influence of sending so many letters to the editor opposing health care reform. In the end, it really doesn't matter how many people use that site, because they'll just make up their numbers anyway. They always have. Why tell the truth, when a lie will work just as well?

I wonder if there is a more conservative site offering a similar service ... the best of both worlds! : ) |
